On the afternoon of October 27, 2018, officers of the Clemson City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the city for travelling 29 miles an hour above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was occupied by Justin Ryan Collins, 25, of Townville and Tristan Leighann Gambrell, 20, of Westminster. During the course of the traffic stop officers noted the odor of marijuana and items commonly associated with drug use inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed an unlawfully carried handgun which was listed as stolen from Greenville County, 377 grams of Marijuana, .6 ounces of THC wax, scales, and $16,000 in cash.
Both Mr. Collins, and Ms. Gambrell were arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Unlawful Carry of a Handgun, and Possession of Stolen Goods. Both have since been released on $26,000 bonds.
