Chief Dixon's policing philosophy is to improve the quality of life through the use of technology and 21st Century Policing Methodologies while developing partnerships within the community. He is an advocate for his employees from their personal well-being to their career development through training and peer-to-peer leadership. Chief Dixon joined the Clemson City Police Department in January of 1996, following a tenure as a staff instructor at the SC Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia, SC.
As a Captain in 1996, Chief Dixon coordinated the Uniform Patrol and Training sections of the Department. After being promoted to Major in 1999, he coordinated the functions of Uniform Patrol, Investigations, and training. Chief Dixon was appointed Chief of Police in December 2002
Chief Dixon has gained experience in law enforcement beginning as a communications officer for Clemson City Police, followed by experience as an officer in both rural and urban county environments working in all areas of the career field.
Chief Dixon holds a Bachelor's Degree in HR Management from Southern Wesleyan University.
